Barrie Jr. Sharks are playoff-bound

The Barrie Jr. Sharks won a tightly contested battle on Tuesday over the Toronto Aeros, securing the first playoff berth in club history!

Furthermore, Sharks forward Taylor Battaglia scored the game’s lone goal. Goaltender Calli Hogarth was flawless en route to earning a shutout. The Sharks now advance to the Provincial Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) playoffs in Mississauga. In addition, the championship weekend takes place March 25-27.

Barrie Colts look to rebound after Thursday’s loss

Firstly, the Colts dropped Thursday night’s game against the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2, ending the team’s three-game win streak. Moreover, New York Rangers prospect Evan Vierling extends his impressive scoring streak with points in 11 of his last 12 games.

Next, the Colts travel to Meridian Centre to face the Niagara IceDogs at 7:00 pm. Winners of their last three games over the IceDogs, the Colts hold a 3-2-0-0 record over their counterpart during the 2021-22 OHL season.

Afterward, the boys return home to Colts Country for a Saturday evening contest against the Mississauga Steelheads at Sadlon Arena. The Colts trail the Steelheads by 14 points in the Central Division standings.

Barrie Baycats offer baseball camp over March Break

The Baycats are hosting a youth day camp for baseball fans during the March Break. Additionally, the camp runs from March 14-18 for children aged 6-14. Everything under the sun about baseball is on the agenda!

Furthermore, the March Break camp will offer various skill levels and a pizza lunch for participants.

Georgian Grizzlies post-season news

The men’s basketball team defeated the Durham Lords 82-75 Wednesday. Grizzlies forward Jaylen Moore-Tucker posted a double-double stat line to lead the charge. Additionally, Moore-Tucker scored a team-high 19 points & 10 rebounds.

What’s more, the Grizzlies advance to the OCAA Quarterfinals and meet Humber College on Saturday at 3 pm.

Finally, the men’s volleyball club defeated Centennial College 3-2. The Grizzlies advance to the Quarterfinals on March 12 to face the Sheridan Bruins. Best of luck to the Grizzlies in their Quarterfinal matchups!
