TGIF: Apparently Blondes DO Have More Fun

Easy Drinking Golden Ale from Barnstormer’s is an Ideal Patio Companion

Let’s be honest…there are worse ways to kickstart the weekend than with a cold beverage.

And yet, it’s easy to fall into a routine of buying the same couple of beers or spirits at your favorite watering hole or the LCBO. Of course, there’s always going to be your standard go-to’s. But mixing it up (get it…mixing???) makes for a fun outing.

With that in mind, we’re taking a shot (bet you thought we would stop with the drinking puns after that first one) at finding you a weekly selection of spirits to liven up your Friday.

This week why don’t your try…

400 BLONDE ALE CRAFT BEER

As the brewer put’s it…” 400 Blonde Ale is impossible to dislike. It’s the beer for everyone; anytime; any place. “

And after sampling a few, we tend to agree! This a smooth tasting, bare bones (in a good way) golden ale that is ideal for any sitting.

The initial pour is a bright, yellow golden colour with tiny head that leaves just a bit of lacing. The first taste goes down gently, and emits balanced notes of grain, grass and citrus. It’s got a nice sweetness to it with definite flavour, although some beer advocates might find it a bit thin.

The overall experience is light tasting, but with lively carbonation and a solid body texture. There is a crisp finish and no lingering aftertaste, which is a plus in our books.

Enhanced by Barnstomer’s customary imaginative label art work, this is a 4.5% on the ABV scale, paired well with just about anything on the menu. Best bet: Canned version at a Barbecue or on a lazy patio summer afternoon.
