TGIF: Czech Your List
Let’s be honest…there are worse ways to kickstart the weekend than with a cold beverage.
And yet, it’s easy to fall into a routine of buying the same couple of beers or spirits at your favorite watering hole or the LCBO. Of course, there’s always going to be your standard go-to’s. But mixing it up (get it…mixing???) makes for a fun outing.
With that in mind, we’re taking a shot (bet you thought we would stop with the drinking puns after that first one) at finding you a weekly selection of spirits to liven up your Friday.
This week why don’t your try…
Czechlist Pilsner – Barnstomer’s
Czechlist fills the glass the color of ripe hay, with a golden tinge present as the bevy settles. The head is dense, white, and lasting.
On the nose, this beer is everything you expect from a pilsner’s aroma. There are the expected aromas of soda cracker, fresh bread, and freshly malted pale grains. There are also hints of florals, which brings a pleasant balance to the sitting.
On the tongue, it is smooth and pleasantly low in carbonation. The flavors start off with the expected bready, malty, soda cracker notes of pale malt. A smooth mouthfeel combined with flavors of raw earthiness make for a refreshing profile. Czechlist finishes off with a hit of peppery, European hops giving just a little bitterness before fading away.
Best paired with stoic, sharp and cheesy options from the menu.
You can order Czechlist from Barnstormer’s website.
