McReily’s Lager Is a Smooth, Homepub Beverage Experience
Let’s be honest…there are worse ways to kickstart the weekend than with a cold beverage.
And yet, it’s easy to fall into a routine of buying the same couple of beers or spirits at your favorite watering hole or the LCBO. Of course, there’s always going to be your standard go-to’s. But mixing it up (get it…mixing???) makes for a fun outing.
With that in mind, we’re taking a shot (bet you thought we would stop with the drinking puns after that first one) at finding you a weekly selection of spirits to liven up your Friday.
This week why don’t you try…
MCREILY’S LAGER
Although several of Barrie’s pubs offer locally brewed beers, McReily’s on Dunlop street is one of a few non-brewery locations that create their own lager.
In aroma, it’s of course slightly hoppy, with a just a hint of citrus.
In taste this is a drink that is balanced but not too sweet. The bitterness is soft and doesn’t overpower the overall experience.
Vibrant levels of carbonation might be a bit much for some, but for our money the fizz is hitting just the right tastebuds.
And the presentation heightens the pub experience in terms of authenticity; a warm golden tint with a slim head of foam. Best paired with a salty side of the menu item (of which McReily’s has several) it’s a pint that you can stick with all night.
