Located in South-west Barrie, this is the little pub that grew. Willie and Illse Steyn have great fun meeting new friends and making them part of the Steyn House family. Anyone who enjoys a great burger or wings should make the drive. (Willie states they’re the best in town.) If you love to sing, head over to some of Barrie’s most enjoyable karaoke nights or check out the entertainment offerings. With their great patio opening on May 15th and the most incredible lineup of summer cocktails available (including one spectacular frozen blend), this is the after workplace to stop in and enjoy the sunset over the flavours of summer. And the Friday fish special – well, that has to be one of the best in town.

The Steyn family loves their neighbourhood so much that they’ve created some great offers. All Military personnel and Peggy Hill Team Community Centre Members receive a 10% discount on food. At the same time, the last Wednesday of each month is 911 Day offering the same deal to ALL first responders. They’re also gearing up for their massive Neighbourhood Tailgate Party on July 1st. That’s a big party day in the parking lot at 2 Marsellus Dr. There’s live music, food and vendors to celebrate the summer season.
All the Way from Pretoria
Willie and Illse Steyn and their family have called Canada home since 1997, having emigrated from Pretoria, South Africa. (And that family is growing, having just welcomed a granddaughter into the world.) With Illse as the face of the pub, Willie holds court in his favourite seat, chatting with people and watching everyone coming in to enjoy. As Willie says, ‘I see that people just love to come and have fun from that chair.’ ‘Families and single women can feel safe as we have no tolerance for excessive drinking or arguments. This is a neighbourhood safe place to enjoy.’
