The Uncovered Beach Bum Guide – Part 6

A few hours from the GTA, and just 45 minutes from Barrie, Lafontaine Beach Park is another hidden gem worth exploring this summer.

Located next to Tiny beach, this hidden gem offers calm waters and breezy beaches along the area’s 70 kilometer shoreline.

This is an ideal location if you are in search of a tranquil landing pad for a chill day. The beach is clean, and there are plenty of spots to set up shop with an umbrella and a cooler.

If the little ones are in tow, you’ll find a playground just steps from the shore. Furthermore, there are a number of shaded spots for lunch or a snack.

At the same time, the crystal blue water can be shallow for many feet and then deepen. So you’ll need to keep an eye on younger swimmers.

Moreover, since this stretch of lakeshore is away from the foot traffic of the main beach areas of Wasaga, it’s well suited for a day with the whole famjam. Or if you’re craving an afternoon of reading with the sand under your feet.

Besides the beach, there are a few points of interest within driving distance if you’re eager to explore the area.

At the same time, there are quite a few accommodation spots nearby, if you are thinking of making it a full weekend stay.
