The Weekender – Apr. 28th
The Weekender Is Powered by The The Queens Hometown Bar & Grill: The home of live music in Barrie and your destination for great food and great times!
Happening this weekend in the Barrie area…
Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival
Every year the town of Elmvale explodes in a celebration of Nature’s rites of Spring – the running of liquid gold – Ontario Pure Maple Syrup. The town transforms into a shoppers’ mall. Vendors line the streets with offerings of maple syrup, food galore, book sales, collectible sales and other country treasures.
Don’t miss the Sugar Shack information booth where you can get directions, tickets for the bus to sugarbush tours as well as your copy of the Festival Directory.
Hit Up Last Level
Spend some time going back in time this weekend.
Last Level Lounge on Dunlop is Barrie’s only retro arcade, and features a ton of throwback video games sure to impress any generation.
On top of the gaming (which is unlimited with the $5 entry) the Lounge has a vibrant drink menu, inspired by the games and characters.
And if you’re a pinball aficionado, keep an eye out for their Spring pinball league, with prizes and weekly tournaments.
Spring Arts and Crafts Show
The annual arts and crafts show returns to the Sadlon arena this weekend.
Trivia And Tunes @ The Queens
And if you are too impatient for Friday to arrive, you can kick off the weekend early at the Queens tonight and try your hand at trivia.
Beginning at 7, it’s a chance to show off your useless knowledge skills, and earn eternal (or at least nightly) bragging rights as a quiz master.
Likewise, there is plenty of live music through the weekend at the Q.
Further, if you just don’t want the night to end, step over to the club side after 10pm, with DJs on the decks and more drink specials to be had.
